SEE: CHERRY BLOSSOMS AT SAKURA PARK 2021

Harlem Bespoke:  A good majority of cherry trees at Sakura Park by Grant's Tomb on Riverside Drive have now hit peak bloom.  Only a couple at the wall by the West 122nd Street side are flowering at this point in time when we walked by yesterday but the main park is putting on quite a show.  We especially like that the city recently planted about a half dozen more blossoming cherry trees around the perimeter and the overall affect is breathtaking.

Sakura Park got its names back in 1912 when the people of Japan donated several cherry trees as gift to the city of New York.  It appears that the taller ones at the center of the park are these same trees but newer ones have since arrived to add to the drama of it all.  The gazebo is always open to public to hang out at but a lot of folks just have picnics below the trees themselves. More about Sakura Park can be found in our past post: LINK
