ARCHITECTURE: MODERN AT 118TH STREET RECTORY

Harlem Bespoke:  The renovations at 262 West 118th Street are finishing up and some updated designs have appeared out front at the facade just west of St. Nicholas Avenue.   Everything looks brand new now and a very modern, elongated window has been included in the mix. This used to be the rectory building for the former St. Thomas Catholic church but apparently has been converted into a single-family home.  This building probably does not have landmark status because this sort of alteration would not be permitted but we are glad the building is otherwise pretty much intact for future generations to marvel at.  Check out our previous post for more on St. Thomas: LINK
