Harlem Bespoke: We really love that fast-casual Fieldtrip on Lenox by 116th Street comes up with new international rice bowls each season. The Puerto Rican arroz con gandules special with lamb, plantains, collards and coconut yogurt is definitely our favorite these days and we probably will get another bowl today just thinking about it. Our former intern who grew up in the Heights mentioned that the lamb is not really a Caribbean thing but we concluded that this was an alternative to goat which might be a little to specialized for the broader commercial palate. Fieldtrip actually combines Asian, African and indigenous cuisine all together so each bowl is a contemporary homage to the mixed culinary heritage of American culture. More on the local startup can be found in our past post: LINK
