INTRODUCING: FIRST LOOK AT CLOAK ROOM HARLEM

Harlem Bespoke:  Last night was the opening for the Cloak Room on Hamilton Place by West 143rd Street and we dropped by the new Hamilton Heights speakeasy to get a better look at the Art Deco interiors and grab a crafted cocktail.  This used to be the location for Hoghead Tavern which shuttered earlier in the year due to the pandemic but no a more grownup space has emerged from the former pub address.

The classic windows are still there and the lounge is somewhat concealed from the public with makeshift shed out front but the interior has a bit of old Renaissance glamour to it.  Graphic Deco wallpaper, vintage sconces, tin ceilings and white marble tables accent the 40-seater which also has plenty of bar space. A serious chef heads up the kitchen and we had the deviled eggs topped with caviar while our drink of the night had a splash of rum, bubbly prosecco and preserved grapefruit to top things off.    Everything is just done right here and this is definitely a new destination spot for the neighborhood.  For more on the Cloak Room, check out our past post: LINK
