GREEN HARLEM: TREES PLANTED AT MONTEFIORE PARK

Harlem Bespoke: It has been 10 years in the making but it looks like the major expansion of Montefiore park at 137th Street and Broadway just might be finishing up.  We walked by this section of Hamilton Heights in the past week and noticed that a lot of workers were on site doing some major planting.

As can be seen from the above photos, trees were being planted all around the new plaza and shrubs appear to be next.  Next up would be the grass which will probably be done by the end of the month or so.  This might just be in preparation to let everything grow during the winter and a spring opening should finally happen.   More on the Montefiore Park expansion can be found in our past post: LINK
