Harlem Bespoke: We received some sad news from the owner of Chaiwali last night and the beloved contemporary Indian restaurant on Lenox by 124th Street will be closing soon on December 12th of this month. Chef Anita Trehan opened the eatery in a brownstone within the Mount Morris Park Historic District back in 2015 and brought in a boutique experience to dining that rarely can be found in any big city. Hopefully there may be another incarnation of Chaiwali in the future but for now make sure to drop in the next few days to say goodbye and get some great food before doors officially shutter.
