EAT: RAMEN KU-RAKU OPENS IN THE HEIGHTS

Harlem Bespoke: We are happpy to report that Ramen Ku-Raku on Broadway by 165th Street has opened in the past month and is doing really well for lunch and dinner service.  The warm space which has a sushi bar at the entrance and tables in back was about half full when first arrived which is pretty decent for a wintertime at a brand new restaurant.

The lunch specials were pretty great and had a lot of grilled fish included but we decided that we needed check out the house specialty on our first visit. Tonkotsu and shio ramen offerings were listed which are the usual types of noodle soups at a ramen-ya, so we ended up going with the less common curry bowl.  We have had curry ramen at some other Japanese restaurants in the past and Ku-Raku serves it up super thicker than usual which was quite hearty and satisfying.  They also have sushi hand rolls for sushi lovers out there and we will definitely be back in the near future to try more things out.  More on Ramen Ku-Raku in our past post: LINK
