Harlem Bespoke: We wrote about the demolition of the lone building at 110 West 123rd Street back in 2012 but never looked up what was previously in place on the adjacent blocks until today. As can be seen from the NYC government photos taken circa 1940, Number 110 to the far left was actually the first in the line of matching brownstones on the south side of the street. Checking online at past DOB permits, the paperwork shows that those 4 other buildings met the wrecking ball sometimes in 1979 since that was when the demolition approvals were dated. As reported today, now a new building has risen on the empty lot and the other parcels of land was converted into a community garden some time ago.
