ARCHITECTURE: 110 WEST 123RD STREET REVEALED

Harlem Bespoke: We took the above photos of 110 West 123rd Street over a decade ago right before the building located just west of Lenox Avenue suddenly collapsed because of shoddy renovation work that was happening at the foundation.  This happened back in 2012 and the empty lot that eventually remained was sold 5 years later but no activity occurred on site until about the time the pandemic started.

There was also a rendering on the plywood out front which displayed a lot of classical detail for the new architectural designs which fits right into the Mount Morris Park Historic District and things have just recently finished up.  We walked by the block this past week and took the last photo which shows the completed building.  What is also interesting here are the side windows which would not have been possible before the community garden next door was put in place since this was once a continuous row of homes a century ago.   For more on the story about the collapse, check out our original post from ten years ago: LINK
