RENT: TWO BEDROOM ON EDGECOMBE
Harlem Bespoke: So the average in Manhattan rent for a non-doorman studio went up a couple of hundred this past summer to a whopping $2,439 a month but those living uptown can save thousands each year since deals can still be found. In the past 24 hours, a prewar two-bedroom at 149 Edgecombe by 142nd Street has been listed for $2,075 a month. This no-fee rental is on a quiet block on the cusp of Central Harlem and Hamilton Heights that is a short walk to the 145th Street express station that gets one to midtown in about 10 minutes. St. Nicholas Park and Jackie Robinson Park are also just blocks away. With that said, this prewar apartment is probably a walk-up situation so might not be for everyone.
