Saturday, May 28th, 3:00PM-5:00PM, Last Address + Tribute Walk, in-theater screening at Maysles Cinema, 343 Lenox Avenue by West 127th Street. Last Address is screening for FREE Saturday at 3:00PM as part of Last Address Tribute Walk: Harlem, a collaboration between Studio Museum in Harlem and Visual AIDS. The list of New York artists who died of AIDS over the last 30 years is countless, and the loss immeasurable. Last Address uses images of the exteriors of the houses, apartment buildings, and lofts where these and others were living at the time of their deaths to mark the disappearance of a generation. The film is a remembrance of that loss, as well as an evocation of the continued presence of these artists work in our lives and culture.
Doors open at 2:30PM and the screening will begin promptly. The film screening will be followed by Tribute Walk opening remarks by Pamela Sneed. The Tribute Walk will depart from Maysles Cinema at 3:30PM. More details on the film event can be found at the Maysles Cinema site: LINK
