Harlem Bespoke: The only large remaining mural of Malcolm X by West 125th Street can be found on Old Broadway just east of Broadway on the north side of the commercial boulevard. Some might be curious to see that fellow Harlem activist Yuri Kochiyama is also on the painting but those who do some research will see that the Japanese American uptowner tried to help save Brother Malcolm when fatally shot at the Audubon ballroom while most ran away from the stage. Sister Yuri lived for decades at the nearby Manhattanville Houses and local neighbors make sure the mural gets restored on a regularly bases in honor of the two Harlem heroes.
