Harlem Bespoke: The best lunch deal in town is the new special at Charles Pan-Fried Chicken on 145th Street by Edgecombe Avenue for $10.95 which includes two delicious pieces of chicken, a heaping of cornbread and a side of your choice. The special goes from 11:00AM to 2:00PM during the week so make sure to drop by at the appropriate hours. We have tried a lot of the sides in the past and have enjoyed everything but a our new favorite order is probably the most underrated.
A friend turned us on to the okra which was something we were used to haveing in our gumbo or mixed into other recipes but never on its own unless it was fried. The food has actually gotten even better over the years in our opinion and those who want a vegetable alternative should try this secret side dish out on the next visit.
