BESPOKE KIDS: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS AT MJM

Harlem Bespoke: For this ‘Second Saturday’ event, families can make paper sugar skulls and other crafts and help to create a Day of The Dead altar, or ofrenda, by leaving notes or gifts for their ancestors or loved ones. The origins of Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead can be traced back thousands of years to the Aztecs. Today, the holiday continues to be celebrated not only in Mexico, but also in neighborhoods like Washington Heights, where many families from Central and South America have brought their traditions to New York City

Saturday, October 8th, 12:00PM-2:00PM, Dia de los Muertos Workshop at Morris-Jumel Mansion. Safety Requirements: The workshop will be held outside of Morris-Jumel Mansion on the bluestone patio from noon until 2:00PM. Stay after the activity for a pop-up concert with Annette Aguilar and Friends, to begin at 2:30PM.  Get more details and register online for this family event on the official Morris Jumel site: LINK
