Back in May there had been reports of a new tapas restaurant arriving within the condo building at 1400 Fifth Avenue so we decided to check out if any progress had happened since then. Walking by the storefront at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 116th Street, we were able to get a few photos of the interior in its current state.
A reader mentioned workers on the site a few months back but all that appears to have happened is a basic clearing up of the space and not much else. The former restaurant's signage is still up on the door and some of the old stainless steel kitchen appears to still be intact. As reported earlier on in the year, The Sunrose Group officially secured the lease for the restaurant but nothing appears to really be happening at this point in time:
