☞ WALK: West 132nd Street
The block of West 132nd Street between the former 6th and 7th Avenues truly will see even better days. The brownstones block is almost perfectly preserved with great views on both sides of the street and along with lush trees to add to the scenery. Like Brooklyn about ten years ago, there are many brownstones in need of rehab so those without imagination might think the block is run-down. Those with vision will see a street waiting to become the next grand, historic neighborhood. On the practical side, the 2,3 express train is at 135th and 125th street which will get one to midtown in 15 minutes.

Notice the shaved house. On the third picture, right side house. It is a cookie cutter copy of its left side neighbor except that its window and door details have been shaved off, likely some low budget repair work from an earlier time.
ReplyDeleteAgain, thanks for such an informative blog.
Great eye. Yes, the window lintels and the pediment over the door is definitely missing. At least there's none of that faux stone vinyl siding.
