☞ BESPOKE: Pop Up Gardens
Yes, we know its easier to pour concrete on the front and back yard and not deal with landscaping, but sometimes the payback for a little gardening effort makes the inconvenience worthwhile. The top photo was taken on the ACP/7th Avenue side of Strivers' Row between 138th and 139th Streets. The lower photo is a backyard in Hamilton Heights in the 140's. Each show that even some potted plants and flower blooms can add a lot of character and brighten the mood to any concrete environment. As more buildings are being restored in Harlem, we hope to see more green thumbs making their presence known.

Boy! I haven't seen a Borden's milk crate in years. That one holding flowers is rare and an antique.
ReplyDeleteSankofa, that reminds us that we have to do a few more dairy district post!
