☞ BESPOKE: Harlem Brownstone Chandeliers

We have posted on basic lighting before, and the topic of chandeliers have come up as the traditional choice for Harlem brownstones. Chandeliers come in all sizes and range from rustic candle holders to the more glamorous, crystal adorned variations. For a more contemporary spin, we found that using mid-century modern often works with classic interiors. The above light was an eBay find and provides a great accent to the room. Another plus with having a chandelier is that alternate light sources are often not needed to illuminate a room since so many bulbs already exist in one fixture. Add a dimmer switch to the mix and the simple chandelier becomes the ultimate light fixture for all occasions. See our other post on custom lighting: LINK. Photo by Ulysses

  1. I think the central light fixture is an important choice and is worth indulging in something worthwhile being mindful of size and height. My personal preference being a traditional antique brass armed chandelier dressed with crystal, no wagon wheels please.

  2. Personally the chandelier in the picture is ugly. This is my opinion, a black crystal chandelier would really be elegant and make the room pop.

  3. That's funny, Anon, because I love this "Sputnik" touch, particularly juxtaposed against the classical ceiling medallion. It's a matter of taste, I guess.

  4. Andrew get a loft, then put this juxtaposed of a thing in it, not a elegant brownstone. Just a matter of good taste
