☞ READ: Creole Restaurant in Crain's
East Harlem's Creole Restaurant was spotlighted in Crain's this past weekend. Kevin Walters' dinner and jazz restaurant made an increase profit in the recession by supporting the arts. To be more exact, Mr. Walters used his restaurant as a gallery for art shows, charging nothing to the artist but would make a profit from the meals and drinks served at each opening. Also, this was instant, word-of-mouth advertising that reached far and wide. Most folks who visited had never been to East Harlem. Seeing that profits are up 15 percent, it seems people like what they saw. Read more in Crain's: LINK. Creole is located at 2167 3rd Avenue, between 118th and 119th Street, Tel. (212) 876-8838. Nearest subway is the 4,5,6 at 125th Street or the 6 train at 116th Street. Photo by Buck Ennis. www.creolenyc.com
