☞ BESPOKE: Arched Doors in Hamilton Heights
Many of the doorways of 19th century townhouses are curved but they usually have a cross beam at top with a transom window. The houses up in Hamilton Heights' historic blocks are a bit different since the door takes up the entire entrance space and curve at top. The vertical panel of glass with the arch is also something very custom in a single door entrance. The above block is on West 142nd Street between Convent and Amsterdam Avenue. Photo by Ulysses.

Fabulous doors, this or a very similar home is part of the Hamilton Heights open house tour, the through the door leads to marble staircase and matching marble handrail, built by a not so starving artist, the tour is not to be missed.
