A green condo building has opened in central Harlem on 51 East 128th Street. The Metropolis Condominium has an eco friendly green roof, solar heated hot water systems, LED lighting, energy efficient double pain windows and all Energy Star appliances. Just a couple of buildings east of Madison Avenue, the building sits right in front of the Harlem Choir School (lower photo) and the closest subway system is the 4,5,6 on East 125th Street. All pictures of the exterior have been computer generated, so we decided to see get a snapshot of the real thing. The building definitely brightens up the block and we especially like its contextual scale.
