☞ REMEMBER: Percy E. Sutton Memorial Service
Many of Harlem's citizens braved today's frosty January morning to attend the Percy E. Sutton memorial service at Riverside Church. The entire side of Claremont Avenue was blocked off for private parking for prestigious guest such as David Dinkins, Governor Paterson and Charles Rangel while the Riverside entrance was open to the general public. It was a sad day indeed but the unity felt amongst the crowd was palpable. We weren't around during the height of Mr. Suttons political career but his importance to the people of Harlem will never be forgotten. All photos by Ulysses
