☞ WALK: Edgecombe Avenue Apartments
Sugar Hill's Edgecombe Avenue on the promontory looking over Jackie Robinson Park is still as historic as its legendary past residents. The top photo shows Edgecombe Avenue viewing north at around 150th Street circa 1922. The second photo shows the same block but looking south and one can see the fence and park benches that look over the park below (third photo). One can see that all the cornices have been removed from most of the buildings but the one at the far right of the top photo still has it grand terra cotta battlement (last photo). The closest station to Edgecombe Avenue starting at 145th Street is the A,B,C,D station. All photographs by Ulysses.
