☞ WALK: The Harlem Meer After the Snowstorm

The snowstorm before Christmas 2009 was breathtaking and we took many photos of Harlem after the big event but missed out on Central Park North. Last night's storm inspired us to venture forth to the Harlem Meer and check out the winter wonderland. As imagined, the big pond was nicely frozen over and the Dana Discovery Center's victorian boat house looked like it was out of some gothic fairy tale. All in all, the frozen landscape was pristine and quiet for the time being and without hardly a footprint. It's all melting right now so we are glad to have captured some fleeting images after the big storm of 2010. The closest subway to this part of Central Park is the 2,3 train at 110th Street. 1. Very nice pics. The only time I really enjoy Central Park is at night after a big snow. So peaceful. It's an alpine wonderland!
