☞ PROTECT: Harlem School of the Arts Rally

Saturday, April 17th, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Harlem School of the Arts on 142nd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. The Save Harlem School of the Arts facebook site has now grown to over 1,000 members (in only five days) and organizers will be planning a rally this upcoming weekend. Over 100 concerned citizens have signed up so far for the afternoon event that will provide more information on the status of iconic school that has been forced to close after 45 years because of recent financial mismanagement. Come show your support, raise your voice and bring your creative ideas to help rescue the school from closing forever.   1. All the rappers who have come out of Harlem and NYC should really think about giving a huge donation to HSA instead spending it on bling and bentleys. That would be a nice change.

  4. @Anonymous #1...I completely agree and am baffled (well not really) why none have stepped up to the plate. A few of them could easily set HSA on a path of sustainability...

  5. $700,000 reserve and 1.5 million dollar UMEZ Grant "evaporated" since 2007 according to newspaper reports. Anyone who knows the school knows competent professionals were put out by incompetent posers over the past 3 years, knows also that the Board has been a disgrace to the concept of "leadership" for some time. What really needs to happen is State Attorney Generals Office get involved, investigate, and put some people in jail.
