☞ DWELL: 413 West 148th Street Townhouse

The 20 foot wide landmark townhouse at 413 West 148th Street (with the owls on the stoop), a few houses west of St. Nicholas Avenue, just came on the market for $1.7 million this past week. The 4,760 square foot, 4 story townhouse is a legal two-family building and has a load of original woodwork and details on the inside. We couldn't find any kitchen and bath photos so those might need to be upgraded by the future home buyer. Otherwise, the block is quite residential with not much going on in the immediate area. Transportation-wise, the north entrance to the A,B,C,D train is just a half block away on St. Nicholas Avenue.

Another point of interest is that this is probably the first Harlem brownstone interior we have seen with the wallpaper intact or added on as part of the renovation. Most of the houses in the neighborhood would have had this wall treatment at one point in time or another so it's interesting to see an example of it still around. Aesthetics aside, is this one priced right? Facade photo by Ulysses
