☞ DWELL: 19 West 120th Street Sold in July
The house at 19 West 120th Street started new on the market at the beginning of 2010 for the asking price of $1.85 million. We noted that it went into contract three months later in March and a reader recently saw moving vans out front of the building. The two-family house reportedly has all the original details intact in the interior, 4,865 square feet of living space and is at the golden 20 foot wide mark. The townhouse is also one of the most distinct ones to be found in Harlem and on one of the nicest historic blocks. So what was the final selling price? Records now show now the property finally sold for a total $1.8 million. Read our past post on this landmark building: LINK. Facade photo by Ulysses

Does anyone remember specifics - was this a turnkey townhouse? SRO? Good buy at below $400 psf - 20 footer, prime block and prime area.
ReplyDeleteHouse is in beautiful condition. Upper portion being used as a Bed and Breakfast for a while. Ground floor owner's unit is also in great shape.Beautiful building.
ReplyDeleteIMO...the buyer got a tremendous deal. Beautiful home in a wonderful location.
ReplyDeleteOne caveat, however, is there does not appear to be any sort of Certificate of Occupancy.
Saw this home and loved it. Lots of great details no real kitchen to speak of for the upper floors - there was a makeshift one set up for the users of the B&B. The owners garden level had a nice small kitchen and access to the backyard. The house needed some worth but was truly unique and unlike any other on that block.
ReplyDeleteI do recall that the owner was looking for a fast and mostly cash only deal as there were some issues in terms of the C of O (didn't exist) and there were some legal issues as well. We were interested but had to pass.
