Back in April, Mel's Burger Bar announced its future arrival on the block of Broadway and 111th Street. This week marked some major progress on the facade and interior work since it looks like everything will be wrapped up relatively soon. The new, classic awning and lights are up along with an eye-catching, retro neon sign (top photo). There's more neon inside and graphic diamond checkerboard floors are a visual draw to the new storefront. This one will probably be open just in time for the Columbia students return to campus at the end of the month. Get more details on the menu in our past post:
