☞ DWELL: 136 West 123rd Street Townhouse

OPEN HOUSE: Saturday, October 23rd, 10:30 AM-Noon.  There are a couple of shells left just west of Lenox Avenue at 123rd Street and one of them is currently up on the market for $700K.  The building at number 136 West 123rd Street (at center with maroon doorway) is 17.5 foot wide and the lack of interior photos portends a pretty substantial renovation for the future homeowner.  Another factor of concern is that the brownstone is still listed as an SRO which might take quite a bit of time and substantial legal fees to work out before any renovations get started.  That said, the location has mostly brownstones lining both sides of the streets but it's not the most restored block in the area. The 2,3 express train is only a block away from Lenox and better boutique restaurants are just around the corner.

  1. i looked into buying this place 3-4 years ago. It does need full renovation and has limited details. The lack of a certificate of non-harassment and someone who was described as a "squatter" living there was discouraging. Not sure re current status.
