☞ SHOP: La Scala Opens on 125th Street
We covered the renovation of the old store front at 254 West 125th Street (between FDB/8th and ACP/7th) back in January and now it looks like a better urban boutique has opened up on the once vacant storefront. Early in the year, what was most striking about the renovations was the fact that the outdated facade was removed from the exterior to reveal some rusted classic pilasters that were part of the original design: LINK. La Scala has now opened up and incorporates the details into the more commercial top half of the building and contrast the details in black and white. There's a whole lot of flash here and folks should check out the substantial glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling and the massive onyx panther sculpture that sits in the middle floor space when walking by.
