☞ DWELL: 259 West 136th Street Townhouse
Another townhouse on the unusually distinct block of West 136th Street, between ACP/7th and FDB/8th Avenue, is back on the market. These 17 foot wide buildings on the north side of the street mostly have their cornices still intact and rare pyramidal roofs at top. This one looks to have a great amount of original detail inside and some moderate finishes in the kitchen. DOB records have it formerly an SRO but apparently a Certificate of Non Harassment is in place. When it was listed again a couple of years ago, the asking price was at $1.89 million but the 3,700 square foot townhouse has arrived recently with an asking of $1.35 million. The other house a couple of doors down is only asking for $995K but the interiors might be entirely different: LINK

I always go a little out of my way to walk up 136 street on my way to the library. The Stained glass and the huge stiarwells are just amazing.I just wish more of it was being taken care of.
