☞ DWELL: More Details on 30 West 120th Street

Although there was a bit of hoopla yesterday over the discovery that the brownstone at 30 West 120th Street (the townhouse with the corner extension facing Marcus Garvey Park) belonged to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Harlem Bespoke readers were already vigorously talking about this property and its owner back in the beginning of summer: LINK. As far as some additional information on the 18 foot wide building that's been on the market since Spring, Curbed revealed that the basketball legend purchased the property back in 2002 for $525K and had it renovated in 2006: LINK.

The asking price has had a couple of price reduction and is currently at $3.1 million (from the original $3.45 million). Seeing that the highest price for luxury Harlem townhouses currently peaked at $2 million this summer, the asking price for the Mt. Morris Park property is still out there. Even if a million was sunk into restoring this place (seeing that the renovations are extremely high end), the NBA star would more than break even with selling in the $2 million range.  Check out the original article on the Real Deal: LINK

  1. I wonder if everything is extra tall. Seriously, like if the bathroom sinks are set higher. . .
