☞ INTRODUCING: 1465 & 1473 Fifth Avenue
Those yellow and orange checkered buildings that went up recently on a couple of large abandoned lots between 117th and 118th are apparently affordable rentals. The HPD funded buildings at 1465 and 1473 Fifth Avenue are technically on the East Harlem side of the Street and borders the Mount Morris Park Historic District. Altogether, there's over 80,000 square foot of rental space within the $15 million new construction and the ground floors all have commercial storefronts available to lease according to this recent article: LINK. Based on a rental website that is representing the building, it looks like a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit is going for $2,908 per month: LINK. Is this really affordable for even Manhattan standards?

That's still obscense. I'm wondering what the latest definition is for affordable.
ReplyDeleteThe price of $2,908 is one of two market apartments in this building. This particular unit has over 1000 sq ft of outdoor space.
ReplyDeleteThe middle income 2 bedroom apartments left in this building are all $2,326/month (2 bed 2 bath).
