☞ MEET: Manny Vega at the East Harlem Cafe
Friday, December 10th, 3:00 PM-5:00 PM, East Harlem Cafe at 1651 Lexington Avenue, between 104th Street & 105th Street. Manny Vega is probably East Harlem's most famous living artist today and his works can be seen in painted street murals along with the colorful mosaics at the subway stations on the Lexington line. Mr. Vega even recently restored the famous "Spirit of East Harlem" mural which was painted by his mentor Hank Prussing back in the 1970's: LINK. So if you are an art lover, come by and meet Manny Vega this Friday and get a quick portrait done for - wait for it - only $12. The East Harlem Cafe will be holding this event and participants will also receive a complimentary coffee. We also like that Mr. Vega has recently added on the applied "painted mosaic" art to the buildings at this corner of Lexington Avenue and even a sidewalk shed gets the artistic touch by the East Harlem icon (top photo). www.ArtByMannyVega.com
