☞ DWELL: 182 East 117th Street Townhouse
OPEN HOUSE: Sunday, January 9th, 11:45 AM-1:00 PM. There's not a lot of new brownstones open houses this weekend (that we haven't recently reviewed), so we headed over east to take a look at a townhouse that's a little more contemporary. The grey, modernist cube that's located on a former empty lot at 182 East 117th Street is not big on details but is a generous 25 foot width. The space is advertised as more of loft setting with 3 floors and about 2,100 square foot all together for the asking price of $999K. It's been on the market for the past couple of months and the location in East Harlem (between Third and Lexington) is just a block away from the 4,6 train at 116th Street. There's a lot of new construction going on in the area as can be seen in the top photo but most of the surrounding block consist basically of old shabby tenement buildings. That said, there's a lot of cheap, good Mexican food to be had in this section of Harlem.
