☞ INTRODUCING: A Harlem Townhouse Reno
The Wall Street Journal editor's brownstone blog is wrapping up its renovation on West 123rd Street and we were lucky to have a Central Harlem homeowner invite Harlem Bespoke to check out the restoration of their recently bought townhouse. We've admired the exterior of this particular building for quite some time and the above photos shows the current state of the interior. There's a huge amount of original detail present along with a whole lot of wood paneling, drop ceilings, linoleum floors and more than a few odd pipes. Stay tuned to see more of the progress on this townhouse reno in our upcoming posts.

wow.. goes to show you how much work it takes to get to the "after" stage. kudos (and profit) to those who take on these projects! looking forward to seeing updates. best of luck - you are restoring Harlem to its glory.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I can understand why some shell owners decide to rip out and replace the bulk of it (in the case of the Wall St. journal couple).
ReplyDeleteOne imagines this will be lovely when done. I didn't like wood or simulated wood paneling even when it was in fashion in the '70's.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to them. Looks like they have some great bones to work with.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a series, look forward to further installments, and good luck to them.
ReplyDeleteWait A Minute....
ReplyDeleteIs this the same WSJ editor that's been writing about her house for over a year, I thought she was done???
@Harlem Cuban- WSJ house in South Harlem is wrapping up so we moved on to a brand new Central Harlem renovation project thanks to one of our readers.
