☞ DWELL: 342 East 116th Sold in December
The For Sale sign up at the 4-family brownstone on 116th street between 1st and 2nd Avenue has been up for the past couple of years and now it looks like it finally sold. Originally asking for $1.4 million back in 2007, the townhouse went on and off the market again until the asking price of $995K stuck around two summers ago. At 16.6 foot wide and 4,168 square foot total, the home isn't in the best shape but this part of 116th Street has more brownstones than the usual shabby tenement in the area. It doesn't look like the interior has been updated in decades but apparently their were renters in the building in recent years. The subway on the Lex line is a bit of a walk West but Target is close by in the opposite direction. Final price for an East Harlem townhouse that needs work? According to public records released in December, the entire brownstone went for $750K.
