☞ INTRODUCING: Activity at 241 Lenox Avenue
It's been at least over a year that the landmark corner brownstone in the Mount Morris Park Historic District has stalled completely but we noticed some activity this week on site. DOB permits go back to 2008 for a residential building conversion at 241 Lenox Avenue and reportedly 7,551 square foot of usable space will be available which includes ground floor retail. There was a crew out front of the building a couple of days ago and they appeared to have been unloading restored antique doors from a truck parked at the curb. We are not sure what the holdup was all about but it seems like something is happening on the site. Once this building is done, the next door neighbor at 243 Lenox will be the only brownstone shell remaining to fix up on this side of the avenue in the historic district.

While passing by this morning, it looked to me as though a film crew was setting up to do a project inside 243.
ReplyDelete@Coopster...That could actually be the story since the doors might have been just part of the set design. It's probably not the best condition inside so everyone would have to sign a waiver if filming is indeed what is going on.
ReplyDeleteThe other day there was a film crew on West 122nd Street b/t ACP & Malcolm X Blvd. The film trailers were lined up along Malcolm X Blvd also. The signs on the block were for the HBO series; Boardwalk Empire.
ReplyDeleteManaged to peak inside the front door during filming. The place looks amazing. Wish they would finish fixing it up though and lose the scaffolding. A little diner downstairs would be nice.
