☞ DWELL: 290 Convent Avenue Sold in March

The estate sale property of 290 Convent Avenue (just north of 141st Street) finally went through after being on the market for almost a year now. This 20 foot wide limestone townhouse has a total of  6 bedroom, 5 bath, 4,751 square foot of space but was really in dire shape.  Some nice herringbone floors were intact in the library of the house and a smattering of detail still existed but the entire landmark building would have been a total gut renovations for the initial asking price of $1.2 million. As of three weeks ago, the Hamilton Heights home on a very charming block finished the deal for $850K so the once-empty house might finally get fixed up within the next year or so.
