☞ REVIVE: What's Up with 60-66 West 130th?

There are a few shells on the historic Astor Row block of 130th but the most notable one is located close to empty corner lot by Lenox Avenue and some activity has been seen on the site in the past week.
A reader mentioned something was going on over at the church owned property so we swung by to take a look.  More photos after the jump.

An updated photo shows that all the busted windows have been removed and a dumpster crew has been set up on the adjacent lot as of today. Based on DOB permits, an old job filing for No. 60 was approved last month to restore the interior infrastructure but it does not really show any update for the corner lot.  The building and the parcel of land is lumped together on the DOB site as No. 60-66 but it appears that only the landmark house is being restored at the moment.  This property is apparently church owned based on the paperwork and there have been reported (unconfirmed) talks in the past that the corner land would make way for a new house of worship.

  1. If the church was to build anything on the vacant lot or any other
developer, they can only build a structure which is no bigger
than two floors because "The Lenox" building owns the air
rights from the 3rd. floor and up to that vacant lot. I'm almost
certain that the church received a big chunk of money when
    they sold their air rights!!

  2. The church owns those 2 Astor Row houses as well as the vacant lot. Their plan is to restore the 2 houses first and then build their new church on the empty lot.
