☞ REVIVE: The Lancaster Lexington Update
An affordable coop building called the Lancaster Lexington has been going up slowly on the former lot at East 117th Street for the past year and looks to be almost ready for its debut. The top two photo show the various phases of the development that has stopped and started a couple of times but has been mostly under scaffolding for the past few months. All facade work now appear to have finished and the netting finally went down the past week. Current photo after jump.
It's not the most innovative design but definitely is a lot better than the open lot that used to be at the location and this new construction will help folks in the nabe with achieving home ownership. The design actually looks a lot like the sister coop building called the Lancaster Madison which opened up a couple of avenues west of this location: LINK.
