☞ REMEMBER: Windows at the Public Library
A photo taken probably sometimes in the 1930s shows that the public library had window displays at one point to entice the local children to come inside. The George Bruce Branch at 518 West 125th Street had opened up one of the windows on the ground floor and would set up various themes from time to time based on a few photos that have been taken of the space during the time period. Once can now see in the lower image that the windows original casements have now been restored and the former display section have all been sealed off in modern times. Archival photo courtesy NYPL

Obviously the window displays worked back then, just look at those two at the window. And the kids in general; just too cute!
