☞ WALK: The 103rd Street Community Garden

Thursday, September 22nd, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, The 103rd Street Community Garden Opening and Ribbon Cutting with Bette Midler, at 103rd between Park and Lexington.  Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and revitalizing parks, community gardens and public space in New York City, announces the upcoming opening of the 103rd Street Community Garden on September 22nd.  Underwritten by Disney, the garden was designed and built with help from Disney employee volunteers and representatives from NYRP. The garden features a playground for local children, as well as vegetable beds for community members to grow fresh vegetables.

Last May, the playground was installed and the groundwork for the garden was established but this will be the official ribbon cutting event (at 6:15 PM) with Ms. Midler on hand.  Check out our past post to see what the garden looked like earlier on in the year: LINK
