Saturday, October 22nd, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Season of 1000 Roses at Trinity Cemetery near the entrance next to Church of the Intercession. Since October 2009, the group overseeing the Heritage Rose District has planted over 600 heritage roses in Harlem. The 2nd Anniversary will be called “Season of 1000 Roses” - with a goal to add 1000 additional heritage roses to Harlem by April 2012. To date, 25 different sites including community gardens, historical sites, and cultural institutions.
The event will kick off at Trinity Church Cemetery and additional roses will be planted at the cemetery and at Church of the Intercession. There will also be the soft launch of the mobile walking tour, and a brief walking tour of the first phase of the tour will take place.
