☞ WALK: A Couple of Sheep at Montefiore Park
The little triangular park at Broadway and 136th Street called Montefiore Park is ever evolving and we noticed a couple of new arrivals this past week. Two very tall bronze sheep have made the south most tip of the park their home at this West Harlem green space and they definitely are a striking addition to the neighborhood. A huge bronze head sculpture was part of the park last year and now has been replaced by these two new arrivals. Does anyone know if this is a part of a series like the head sculptures that were at all the parks last year? See the previous bronze artwork in our past post: LINK

I think these are part of a series stretching all the way down Broadway to Columbus Circle. We saw a couple of Elephants (bronze :) at CC on Friday night created by the same guy. There is a map with about ten other statues all the way up Broadway.
ReplyDeleteI saw two birds perched on a tower of apples by Lincoln Center and they were quite wonderful.
