☞ REMEMBER: 130th and Lenox circa 1932
The block on the west side of Lenox and 130th Street has a few vacant lots on it and we were curious to see what the buildings around the former Public Fish Market looked like back when all was intact. An archival photo from 1932 shows a mirror image building next door which also had two floors of residential on top and a commercial space below. There was a grocery store in downstairs at that time but today the space has remained vacant in recent years. Photo via NYPL

Love the shoe. Actually love the entire bustling scene. But especially the shoe.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a vibrant shopping strip, very cheerful with the striped awnings, it would be nice to see some of that will return to upper Lenox with the new Harlem.
