☞ ARCHITECTURE: A Circular Brownstone Portal

An unusual townhouse window detail can be found at the corner building at 529 Manhattan Avenue and 122nd Street.  A row of windows on the side of building appears to have a distinct circular window or portal that has been sealed up.  This actually could have been custom built as a vent but has cleverly been detailed to look like an original design element.  Windows in the same line on the upper floors appear to be either sealed or the standard double hung model so the best guess is that the peculiar portal arrived sometimes later. Another point of interest to this building is that it has the showroom for notable fabric house known as Tillet and Rauscher on the lower floor: LINK
