☞ DWELL: 227 Lenox in Contract
The 26-foot-wide building formerly used as a church at 227 Lenox Avenue is now officially in contract according to Streeteasy: LINK. A bankruptcy auction was scheduled for February 2nd but a few readers who showed up to the January open house reported that the property already had an interested buyer and the broker basically turned the crowd away. At a starting bid of $400K, it seems that this landmark building in the Mount Morris Park Historic District at 121st Street automatically found a buyer who saw its value and placed an offer that could not be refused. It is yet to be seen what the brownstone building finally sold for but this should be revealed in the upcoming months.
