☞ SEE: Around Harlem This Weekend

Saturday & Sunday, Oct 6th - 7th, 2012 12:00PM to 6:00PM, Harlem Art Walking Tour 2012, starting at Casa Frela, 47 West 119th Street. Over 80 local artist will be represented at 47 locations this weekend as part of the self guided tour also known as HAWT.  As in the past, participants will be handed out the Harlem Art Walk Tour maps at the Casa Frela gallery in the Mount Morris Park Historic District and then will be able to guide themselves to various art galleries or studios.  Check out the full details on locations at the Casa Frela site: LINK

Saturday, October 6th, 9:00AM-11:00AM, Coffee Bark at the St. Nicholas Park dog run, St. Nicholas Avenue, closer to 136th Street. Coffee Barks are monthly events for dog owners to meet one another, and discuss issues and volunteer opportunities in the dog run. Coffee Bark is held on the first Saturday of the month at the St. Nicholas’ Dog Run. Coffee, donuts, and other refreshments are provided: LINK

Saturday, October 6th, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, The Morningside Park Farmers Market at 110th Street and Manhattan Avenue. Drop by the corner of 110th and Manhattan Avenue to check out what's in season at the Morningside Park Farmers Market. These local markets only grow and improve with community support so make sure to visit each Saturday: LINK.

Saturday,  October 6th, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, The Mount Morris Park Historic District Farmers Market at 122nd Street and Lenox. The Mount Morris Park Historic District Farmers Market returns for 2012 at a new location right on Lenox Avenue.

Saturday, October 6th,  from 10:00AM-6:00PM, MJM CAFé: Morris-Jumel Mansion Culture & Arts Festival, 65 Jumel Terrace between 160th and 161st Street. The second annual Culture and Arts Festival (CAFé) will feature the vibrant music, artistry, crafts and cuisine that make Washington Heights and the neighboring communities of Harlem, Inwood and the Bronx so diverse and dynamic. Performers, artists and restaurants already confirmed are: The Harlem Swing Dance Society, Singer/Reenactor Rich Bala, Storyteller Bobby Gonzalez, Theater for the New City, Underworld Productions, Ghosts of Manhattan, Diaspora Now, Cherrymae Designs, Miranda Nelli, Bistro Latino, Coogan’s and many more to be announced!
