☞ SHOP: Paint & Hardware Store for 170 Lenox

Settepani Pizza had applied for a liquor license back in 2011 for the commercial space at 170 Lenox but hard times apparently has prevented progress for this eatery to move forward and a hardware store is opening instead on the corner of 119th Street. A Bespoke reader sent in the lower photo showing a sign up at the storefront announcing the new shop's arrival. At least there will more foot traffic because of the hardware store and there is definitely enough restoration going on in the Mount Morris Park Historic District to have such an establishement.  Read more about the planned Settepani Pizza in our past post: LINK

  1. Looks like it's going to be nice-- judging from the pendant lights. But there's Virgo hardware and lumber up on the next block and the wonderful Mushtari up on 125. They carry Benjamin Moore. They are very nice and very helpful.

  2. Mushtari is nice and it has been helpful for Virgo hardware to be nearby but honestly, the building Virgo is in is a disgrace compared to the way the neighborhood is developing. If they put a little into cleaning up the boarded up, bricked up and chipping paint buildings it would go a long way to being neighborly and adapting to the cleaner, fresher look of the area. The way those three buildings look it seems like a monument to the slum look of the 80's. It is a shame because I have found them friendly and even have what I need most of the time.

  3. UGHHHH do you know how long I have been writing to Starbucks to open a location in that spot? Anyone living on lower Lenox either has to go all the way over to 118th and FDB or 125th and Lenox to get a Starbucks coffee...

  4. Isn't there already a hardware store in that broken down building next to Settipani?
